MORE THAN A NICE HOUSE A Better Place to Build a Life in Recovery

A Design for Living Recovery Homes was created around a simple idea: men and woman leaving treatment deserve more than a bed and a roof.

We combine safe, clean and comfortable sober living homes with the structure, accountability and active recovery involvement needed to navigate life after treatment. Residents aren't simply given a place to stay. They're given an environment where recovery becomes part of everyday life.

BUILT FOR REAL-WORLD RECOVERY

More Than Sober Living. A Foundation for Life After Treatment.

Treatment provides structure, but lasting recovery means learning to carry those principles into everyday life. A Design for Living combines accountability, active 12-step involvement, and practical life skills to help residents build stability while returning to real-world responsibilities.

Structure & Accountability

Recovery requires consistency. Residents receive 24-hour on-site support, regular house-manager meetings, clear expectations, and frequent drug and alcohol testing designed to maintain a safe, accountable sober living environment.

12-Step Recovery & Community

Recovery is stronger with connection. In-house 12-step meetings, book studies, sponsorship, fellowship activities, and involvement in Nashville’s recovery community help residents build meaningful relationships and stay actively engaged in recovery.

Life Skills & Independence

The goal is not simply to live sober in one of our homes- it’s to build a life that supports long-term sobriety. Life-skills development, volunteering, work, responsibilities, and community involvement help residents prepare for greater independence beyond sober living.

PEOPLE OVER PROFIT
Built From Personal Experience in Recovery

A Design for Living was founded by Justin Coggins after his final treatment stay in 2016. Having experienced sober living homes throughout the Southeast himself, Justin knew firsthand how much the right environment could influence life after treatment.

After living in too many subpar environments, he started with one house and a simple goal: create a place where people could come home after treatment and feel like their lives were getting better, not worse.

  • Founded by Justin Coggins in 2016

  • Built from personal recovery experience

  • Quality homes with real recovery structure

  • People Over Profit — always
